Applications are open for COVID-19 Wage Subsidy August 2021 #3, and will close at 11.59pm on Thursday 30 September 2021.
It is available to businesses throughout New Zealand affected by the continuation of Alert Levels 3 and 4 from 17 August 2021. This includes businesses operating at lower alert levels.
To be eligible, businesses need to have had (or predict) a minimum 40% decline in revenue in the 14 days between 14 – 27 September 2021 (inclusive), and meet all the other eligibility criteria.
To ensure payments are processed as quickly as possible, it’s very important the information provided in the application matches that held by Inland Revenue. If the information doesn’t match, it may delay the processing of an application.
- Earlier COVID-19 Wage Subsidy payments, and Inland Revenue’s Resurgence Support Payments, aren’t included in their revenue for the revenue decline test.
- We will email businesses who received Wage Subsidy #2 to let them know when it’s time to reapply. Businesses can’t apply early and must wait until the end of the two-week period that they’ve received the subsidy for.
Delayed Wage Subsidy applications are being processed as fast as possible
The vast majority of Wage Subsidy applications have been processed within three working days, and we’re working through the outstanding applications.
- Our wage subsidy processing team is calling some businesses to check details and clear these applications as quickly as possible.
- We’re also emailing some businesses who we haven’t been able to get hold of, asking them to call us.
Businesses can also apply for the Inland Revenue Resurgence Support Payments
A second Resurgence Support Payment from Inland Revenue is now available, and can be used to help with a range of costs.
Eligible businesses can get both the Wage Subsidy August 2021 and Resurgence Payment at the same time.
