Resurgence Support Payment

The Resurgence Support Payment (RSP) is a payment to help support viable and ongoing businesses or organisations due to a COVID-19 alert level increase to Level 2 or higher. If your business or organisation is facing a reduction in revenue due to an alert level increase, you may be eligible for the RSP.

For payments starting on 12 November, the rates will increase to $3,000 per eligible business, plus $800 per FTE, up to a maximum of 50 FTE, or $43,000 per week.

From 12 November, the frequency of payments will also change, from every three weeks to fortnightly, until Auckland moves into the new COVID Protection Framework.

Wage Subsidy Scheme

The Wage Subsidy is a payment to support eligible businesses, organisations and the self-employed affected by Alert Levels 3 and 4, so they can continue to pay employees and protect jobs.

You can apply for the Wage Subsidy regardless of where your business is located in New Zealand. However, your business must have been affected by the continuation of Alert Level 3 or 4.

Applications for the sixth round, Wage Subsidy August 2021 #6 opened on Friday 29 October and will remain open until 11.59pm, Thursday 11 November 2021.

Short-Term Absence Payment

Payment is available at all Alert Levels to employers to pay workers who follow public health guidance and are staying home while waiting for a COVID-19 test result. To be eligible, workers need to be unable to work from home and need to miss work while waiting for the test results. – Work and Income

The COVID-19 Leave Support Scheme provides a payment to businesses to pay their workers who meet certain health criteria, e.g. they have COVID-19.

Small business cash flow loan scheme

Government will provide loans to small businesses, including sole traders and the self-employed, impacted by COVID-19 to support their cash flow needs.

The small business cash flow loan scheme will provide assistance of up to a maximum of $100,000 to businesses employing 50 or fewer full-time employees. This includes sole traders and self-employed businesses.
